Tabbedout Completes Integration with NCR Aloha Restaurant Point-of-Sale System

AUSTIN, TX – September 14, 2012 –Tabbedout, the free mobile payment app for iPhone and Android that allows consumers to open, view and pay tabs with their phones at bars and restaurants, has completed integration with the restaurant point-of-sale (POS) technology of industry leader NCR Aloha (NYSE: NCR). This integration means a larger segment of bars and restaurants across the country will be able to offer mobile payments to their patrons without the need for additional hardware like a reader or scanner.

The Tabbedout app securely stores credit or debit card information directly on the consumer’s phone, encrypted and under passphrase protection, instead of on host servers or in “the cloud.” Consumers are safe from the threat of stolen payment information due to lost or forgotten credit cards since they now can open and pay their tab directly from their phone without handing over their credit or debit information to a server. Patrons can also view their itemized tab in real-time, removing any surprises at the end of the night

Because of the technical integration with NCR Aloha Restaurant POS, it’s a simple software update for bars and restaurants to deploy Tabbedout, without the need for any new expensive hardware like scanners or readers. With Tabbedout, merchants can spend more time serving food and drink to their patrons instead of processing credit cards, which means more revenue for their bottom line.
